The Nainital High Court has currently stayed the appointment of more than 1300 candidates selected for assistant teachers in LT cadre. The court has directed the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) to file a reply in a week. The case was heard before the single bench of Navindra Ravindra Maithani.

Chamoli residents Naveen Singh Aswal, Ajay Negi, Kishan Chandra, including many other candidates, had filed a petition in the High Court saying that the written examination was conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission on 18 August 2024 for LT Assistant Teacher posts. The certificates of the selected candidates were examined from 13 January to 28 January. The petition said that advertisement for recruitment to 1544 posts was extracted by the Commission. The answer key was released after the written examination. A few days later the revised answer key was released.

The petitioners said that the correct answer was written to an alternative question related to the Central Institute of Educational Technology. The reply of the petitioners in the first answer key was correct, while the reply to the revised Answer Ky was declared incorrectly. Due to this, he could not be selected due to his decrease. The court gave a week’s time and directed to file the reply.
