In the Public Works Department, the Met-Bellad employees working through outsourcing in the Public Works Department on Tuesday staged a one-day sit-in against the department. Employees gathering outside the Superintending Engineer Office raised loud slogans against the demand for employment through the Jame and Prayag portal. District President of the Employees Union Jayendra Singh said that despite the issuance of the mandate on 11 August 2023, the department is not adjusting from the portal. Congress leaders also reached the picket site and expressed support and warned of a big movement if the demand was not met.
