The estimated budget of 2025-2026 was passed by the Nainital Nagar Palika Parishad on Tuesday, Rs 41,39,92,849,00 in the board meeting held mainly for finance. Along with this, various issues were discussed. In the municipality auditorium, the account of the previous Rs 6.63 crore, including 41.39, put a budget of Rs 48.39 crore before the board. Out of this, after spending Rs 33.22 crore, he informed about the residue of Rs 14.80 crore.

He gave information about the funds and expenditure received from various schemes including building taxes, cleaning, rent, contracts. EO Rohitash Sharma assured the government to bring funds relative to other proposals including garbage vehicles, dustbins and after an increase in the estimated budget of the financial year, informed about reaching Rs 60 crore, on which the councilors patted the table.

The meeting was attended by Municipality Dr. Saraswati Khetwal, Councilor Mukesh Joshi, Manoj Jagati, Jeetendra Pandey, Bhagwat Rawat, Puran Singh Bisht, Rakesh Pawar, Ankit Chandra, Surendra Kumar, Geeta Upreti, Kajal Arya, Sapna Bisht, Sheetal Katiyar, Ghazala Kamal, Lalita Dafoti, EO II, etc.

These proposals were also passed

-Information about the development fee received so far from the establishment by the DDA and correspondence to the residue payment along with the amount given to the municipality.

– Proposal on behalf of the municipality in the infrastructure item.

– To correspond for the progress of work in the funds given by the municipality to the Jal Sansthan for the protection of Naule.

– To check the disappearance of TV given to the municipality school.

– Giving salary after the recommendation of Principal to the work of environmental friend working in nursery school.

– Giving information about the goods present in the store from the store keeper to the councilors.

– To take initiative for lights on the previous electric poles.

-To set up a committee to investigate the functions of the institution authorized for cleaning door-to-door.

– To appoint one cleaning sergeant in all 15 wards, to decide the responsibility of the remaining ten.

Municipality Council will go to High Court for Mallital Sports Ground

In the board meeting of the Nagar Palika Parishad, it was decided to go to the High Court for the sports ground of Mallital. In the meeting held on Tuesday, Councilor Manoj Sah Jagati read the legal opinion of the advocate. Said that under the mandate, the Sports Ground Municipality was transferred in 1939. In this, the Flats Committee was given the responsibility of conducting sports activities.

Told that after the end of the tenure of the last board, the administrators were occupied here on 4 November 2023. After the civic elections on 19 December 2024, the new board was elected on 25 January 2025 and was sworn in on 7 February 2025. On 15 January 2025, in the presence of Director, Additional Secretary, Assistant Director of Urban Development Department, the sports ground was approved to the District Sports Department. Whereas in the middle of the election and the oath, the sports ground was given to the District Sports Department on February 1, 2025, under the unregistered agreement. The fare was not fixed in this. It was decided to spend 50 per cent of the money from the parking to the municipality in the maintenance of the ground, while the amount of 50 per cent from the Games was also conditioned to spend the game upgradation.

After this, the Municipality Dr. Saraswati Khetwal and all the members agreed to signed a resolution with legal opinion. He said that the decision taken in favor of the District Sports Department will challenge the decision taken in favor of the District Sports Department under the rule of the Administrator for cognizance of the newly formed board.
