IIT students create ruckus on the highway when the gate is closed – Roorkee News

The students of IIT Roorkee created a ruckus when the main gate was closed late on Monday night. During this time traffic on the highway was disrupted. After the students created a ruckus, the institute management opened the gate, instructing not to go out of the premises late at night without permission. During this time, the students accused the institute of violation of the rights of freedom.

The IIT administration was getting input from the local administration that the students of the institute were coming out of the premises late at night and consuming smoking and other types of intoxication. This also threatens the safety of students. An order was issued by IIT student Dean on 28 February. In this, it was said that students were allowed to go out if they give reasonable reasons.

I was being explained to the students for several days but IIT security personnel closed the main gate in front of the roadways at around 11 pm on Monday night. Students roaming out of it could not go inside and they started an uproar. Later, students were instructed and admitted. At the same time, a statement has been issued by the IIT management that there has been no complete ban on going to the students. Instructions have been given to ensure the safety of students and to maintain discipline, and to go out with valid reasons and go out with permission.
