Vice Chancellor of Nainital Kumaon University Prof. Diwan Singh Rawat was awarded the honorary title of Colonel on behalf of Commander BR Singh, Group Commander of NCC Group Nainital. The main attraction of the ceremony held at Hermitage on Tuesday, Prof. Rawat was a piping ceremony, in which he was duly granted a colonel rank. Group Commander Commodore BR Singh provided official letters, uniform value, dignity and rules to provide honorary colonel rank released by the Ministry of Defense, Government of India. The cap was assigned a symbol of respect with Momento. Group Commander BR Singh said that NCC is not only a training institution, but a strong medium of nation building. NCC activities in the university have been exemplary. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rawat said that this honorary degree received by the National Cadet Core, the most disciplined and inspiring youth of the nation, is a matter of respect for him. He dedicated the honor to the entire university community, cadets and students.
